The Singapore-India-Gulf (“SING”) submarine cable system is an ultra-high capacity connectivity between Singapore and India, with two landings in India at Mumbai and Chennai. The SING cable system will also have branches for connectivity to Indonesia, Thailand, and Oman.

The SING cable system is designed with 16 fibre pairs and a minimum capacity of 18 Tbps per fiber pair. 

The SING cable system is an inaugural project initiated by Datawave Networks Ltd. (Datawave), a Cyprus-based independent subsea infrastructure provider. 

Datawave has selected SubCom as a turnkey supplier for the design, manufacture, and deployment of the SING cable system.

Announced in April 2020, the Singapore India Gateway (SING) cable system was projected Ready for Service (RFS) in Q2 2023 but failed to have real construction as of early 2026.

Datawave incorporated its Indian subsidiary on 12 September 2019, Datawave Networks Private Limited, which acquired   International Long Distance Telecommunications License (ILD License) from the Department of Telecommunications in India in August 2021.

As of January 2026, Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. (Cerberus), the private equity firm that owns submarine cable supplier SubCom, has invested and taken a majority stake in Datawave. Cerberus' strategic investment resolves the project's critical funding deadlock, unlocking a construction plan that had been in place but dormant for years.

With secured financing support by Cerberus, and SubCom officially contracted as the turnkey supplier, the SING cable project is targeting a ready-for-service (RFS) date of 2030.
