Monet

The MONET is a 10,556km submarine cable system hooking up Boca Raton in Florida with Fortaleza and Santos in Brazil.

The MONET cable system consists of six fiber pairs, with an initial design capacity of 60Tbps (100Gbps x 100 wavelengths x 6 FPs).

The MONET consortium comprises of Google, Brazil’s Algar Telecom, Uruguay’s Antel, and Angola’s Angola Cables.

The MONET cable system lands at:

  • Boca Raton CLS (Equinix MI3), Florida, USA
  • Fortaleza CLS (owned by Angola Cables), Brazil.
  • Santos CLS, Brazil. Google has 100% ownership interest for the Santos CLS through its subsidiary Google Infraestrutura Brasil Ltda.

The MONET cable system is supplied by SubCom.

The MONET cable system was ready for service on December 6, 2017.
