Verena is a 630-kilometer subsea cable system connecting the UK and Denmark, connecting a landing station just south of Scarborough on England’s east coast to Esbjerg in Denmark.
Owned and operated by Altibox Carrier, the Verena cable system consists of 16 fiber pairs.
The Verena cable system is designed to dramatically increase capacity and resilience between the UK and Denmark, responding to rapidly growing Nordic data traffic and rising international demand for secure, high-quality routes across the North Sea.
The Verena cable system is scheduled to be ready-for-service in the fourth quarter of 2028.
