Super Highway 1

Super Highway 1 links Dublin via submarine cable to Southport, and then on to Manchester, London, and Lowestoft, directly connecting key data centres.

Key features of the Super Highway 1 includes:

  • New fibre deployment
  • 1000km high fibre count
  • 340 new chambers, 239 new fibre joints, 2 new cable landing stations and 4 new PoP sites
  • Optimised for lowest attenuation
  • Subsea distance beach manhole to beach manhole of 221km
  • Diverse from other live and planned systems
  • Direct access to any Dublin and Manchester data centres
  • Onward connection to Europe avoiding London

Super Highway 1 is privately owned and operated by euNetworks, ready for service in November 2019.

euNetworks also owns and operateds the Scylla Subsea Cable System linking London and Amsterdam.
