简体中文(中国) New Jersey, November 13, 2003 - Tyco Telecommunications and Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL) have signed a supply contract for a new undersea fiber optic system connecting Chennai, India with Singapore, the Tata Indicom Chennai-Singapore Cable System (TIC).
Construction is underway on the Tata Indicom Chennai-Singapore Cable System, a system which is over 3,100 km in length and capable of carrying up to 5.12 Tb/s of transmission capacity when fully upgraded. The network is designed to meet the current and future voice, data and internet bandwidth demands from India to South East Asia and beyond. By utilizing a network architecture that incorporates several undersea branching units, the Tata Indicom Chennai-Singapore Cable System is capable of expanding to provide direct fiber connectivity to other regional landing sites, enabling flexibility for future network growth.
