BSCS

The Batam Singapore Cable System(BSCS) is a 98km submarine cable system connecting Batam Centre station (Batam) to Telin station in Changi North, Singapore.

The BSCS cable system is a private system owned and operated by Telin, supplied by NEC and ready for service in 2009.

The BSCS cable system consist of six fiber pairs.

The BSCS cable system was initially activated with 4*10Gbps on each of two fiber pairs. The other 4 fibre pairs are left as dark fibres for future expansion.

In July, 2011, Huawei Marine was selected to complete an upgrade of the BSCS cable system with 40*40G DWDM solution with optical line protection. And it was further upgraded with 100G DWDM solution in 2017 by Huawei Marine.
