The Asia Direct Cable (ADC) is a 9988 km submarine cable connecting China (Hong Kong SAR and Shantou), Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The ADC cable system features eight fiber pairs and is designed to carry more than 160 Tbps of traffic, enabling high capacity transmission of data across the East and Southeast Asian regions.

The ADC consortium comprises 9 investors and members: National Telecom (the merger of CAT and ToT), China Telecom Global, China Telecom Corporation, China Unicom, PLDT Inc., Singtel, SoftBank Corp., Tata Communications and Viettel.

The initial cost of the ADC trunk between Japan and Singapore is approximately US$290 million (exclusive of costs for branches and landings). The total cost of the ADC project is approximately US$500 million.

The ADC cable system is supplied by NEC, with Supply Contract in Force in June 2020 and Provisional Acceptance Certificate signed on 8^th November, 2024, with a delay of more than two years as it was expected.

The ADC cable system has been officially put into operation as of 8^th November 2024, with an inauguration ceremony held in Hanoi, Vietnam on 18^th December 2024.
