TAM-1 is the first fiber optic cable specifically designed to meet the exploding demand for data in the trans Americas region, revolutionizing connectivity solutions through state-of-the-art products and services. The initial system rollout covers more than 7,000 km and will link Florida with Central America and the wider Caribbean.

The TAM-1 cable system is expected to be 24 fiber pairs.

The TAM-1 project is developed by Trans Americas Fiber System Limited, a start-up company incorporated in London in June 2023.

Trans Americas Fiber System partners with AT&T as the anchor tenant and landing party for the TAM-1 system in all U.S. jurisdictions.

Trans Americas Fiber System has selected Xtera as the turnkey EPC supplier for the TAM-1 cable system, to be ready for service in 2025.
