Seaborn Networks announced on July 10th it has completed the final splice for Seabras-1, which is the only direct POP to POP submarine cable system between São Paulo (Brazil) and New York (US).  This is a significant milestone as Seaborn prepares Seabras-1 for its ready-for-service date in August 2017.

Seabras-1 is owned by Seabras Group.  The completion of the system is the culmination of more than five years of work and more than USD 520 million of project financing.  Seaborn operates and maintains Seabras-1 from its offices in the United States and Brazil, including Seaborn’s own network operations centers in New Jersey and Massachusetts.

According to Seaborn Networks, a Private Launch Event  to Celebrate  the RFS of Seabras-1:  Seaborn's NY-São Paulo Subsea Cable is scheduled on September 13, 2017.
