IEX

The India-Europe-Xpress (IEX) connects Mumbai to Europe and interconnects with the India-Asia-Xpress (IAX) in Mumbai to reach Singapore.

IEX lands in the Middle East and Africa (Oman, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia and Egypt) as well as through the Mediterranean Sea with landings in France, Italy and Greece.

The IEX cable is built by Reliance Jio Infocomm and is expected to be operational in 2024.

On November 29,2023, the IEX cable landed in Bergeggi (Savona), Italy.  Retelit retains the role of Landing Partner for Italy for the life of the IEX cable system. IEX's landing in Savona is part of Retelit's "Liguria Landing Platform" project, through which the Retelit Group has made substantial investments to upgrade the infrastructure, connecting Genoa and Savona to Milan. Retelit has built a high-capacity link connecting Genoa with Milan, Marseille and Barcelona. Retelit also collaborates with Vodafone to build a redundant fronthaul in Genoa for the landing of 2Africa.

On November 29,2023, the IEX cable landed in Djibouti, in a partnership with Djitouti Telecom.
