Mangawhai Heads CLS is owned and operated by Hawaiki Submarine Cable LP, newly built for the landing the Haiwaiki Cable System in New Zealand.
Hawaiki Submarine Cable LP warded a multimillion-dollar contract to Northland company McKay to build the cable landing station in Mangawhai Heads.Under the contract, McKay constructed the faclility at Bream Tail Farm, including civil, building, and electrical works, and building an uninterrupted power supply and heating and ventilation systems.
The building is constructed from pre-cast concrete panel with unispan suspended concrete ceiling. It is clad in random width timber batten over plywood sheet rain-screen, with glazing to the roof void, and tray profile, longrun metal roof cladding. The requirement was for the building to blend in with the local environment, originally conceived as a “farm-building”, the building is now presenting as a luxury bach.
