Telxius leads the transatlantic submarine market with DUNANT and MAREA, already in service

The transatlantic route is one of the busiest in the world and Dunant has come to channel the enormous increase in data and content traffic between Europe and the United States. Dunant is a new generation transatlantic cable, 6,600 km long, that connects the United States with the French Atlantic coast, and which now, in combination with MAREA, configures one of the routes with the lowest latency and the highest capacity in the world.

Further to the supply contract coming into force, the Africa-1 consortium - currently formed of Etisalat, G42, Mobily, Pakistan Telecommunication Company and Telecom Egypt (with other parties expected to join soon) - and Alcatel Submarine Networks (ASN) have started the implementation of a new telecommunications optical submarine network.

Orange Announced Dunant Cable System Ready for Service

Orange announced that the Dunant cable system has been ready for service as of January 19, 2021.  Meanwhile, Orange also announced the signature of a partnership on the AMITIÉ cable, planned to be ready for service at the beginning of 2022.

Cyta Constructs Arsinoe Cable System with Fiber Pairs on PEACE Cable

Cyta announced that it has secured the relevant operating licence from the Ministry of Transport, Communications & Works, and is proceeding swiftly with the construction of the ARSINOE subsea cable system, connecting Cyprus with France and Egypt. Telecom Egypt signs agreement with St Helena Government to provide it with its first subsea solution

02 November 2020: Telecom Egypt and St Helena Government (SHG) have signed an agreement to connect the Island to Telecom Egypt’s subsea system over the Equiano submarine cable system.

Telecom Egypt will be the first to provide St Helena with a fibre optic connection to the rest of the world, which is a crucial step towards the Island’s economic growth. The cable, along with the associated high-speed internet, is planned to be delivered to the Island by early 2022.
