According to VBN, Internet users in Vietnam will continue to experience slow connection speeds due to further delay on AAG cable repair, while the repair on the country’s other internet link, the Intra Asia (IA) cable, is ongoing.

The AAG was disrupted the first in this year on January 8, 2017, and the second time this year in February. The cable repair ship is not likely to reach the broken cable before April 5, according to information from local internet providers.

Except for AAG cable break, there are two breaks on the Intra Asia (IA) cable, one on its Vietnam - Hong Kong section, the other on its Vietnam - Singapore section.

According to local internet suppliers, the IA Vietnam-Singapore section will hopefully be back up and running by April 1. The repair of IA Vietnam-Hong Kong section is expected to be started on April 5.

Vietnam has five submarine cable systems, APG and SEA-ME-WE3 landed in Danang, Intra Asia, AAG and the coming AAE-1 landed in Vung Tau.

Vietnam also has about 120 Gbps bandwidth running on terrestrial cables through China.
