Global Carrier Awards 2018 Shortlisted

Global Carrier Awards event is wholesale telecom's' largest global industry celebration. Taking place as part of Capacity Europe 2018, The Global Carrier Awards 2018 will unite 400+ industry leaders from across the international carrier community for an evening packed with fine wining and dining, fantastic live entertainment and plenty of big winners to toast and applaud! Capacity Media announced the shortlisted candidates for the Global Carrier Awards 2018 on September 24^th, 2018.

For subsea cable industry, the Global Carrier Awards 2018 will have the Project of the Year – Subsea, and the best region projects.

Camtel (SAIL Cable), GlobeNet, Hawaiki Submarine Cable, Marea By Telxius, Microsoft & Facebook were shortlisted for the Project of the Year – Subsea, the Global Carrier Awards 2018.

Camtel completed SAIL cable project in September, achieving the first subsea cable connecting Africa and South Africa.

Telxius, Microsoft & Facebook jointly completed MAREA cable in May, the first Open Cable system in the world, the subsea cable with the largest design system capacity (160Tbps), and led by OTT players.

SAIL Cable Project and MAREA Cable Project are both worthy of the award, the Project of the Year – Subsea for the Global Carrier Awards 2018.
