Japan-US CN Network Topology and Connectivity

The Japan-US CN submarine cable network was designed with 6 cable landing stations, with three landing stations in the west coast of the U.S., i.e.,Point Arena, San Luis Obispo,Makaha Hawaii, and the other three landing stations in Japan, i.e., Kita Ibaraki, Shima, Maruyama.

The Japan-US CN submarine cable system consists of a protected ring network, with two submarine cables landing at each cable landing station and four fiber pairs between directly connected cable landing stations, except Kita Ibaraki and Maruyama cable landing stations which are connected with two fiber pairs.

Japan-US CN Network Connectivity

The Japan-US CN submarine cable system was designed to operate at 16x10 Gbps DWDM on each fiber pair, with initial design capacity of 640 Gbit/s. The Japan-US CN submarine cable system was upgraded to 32x10 Gbps DWDM in 2008.
